Originally crafted during solo sets in hotel lobbies and half-lit rooms around Berlin, the album merges sequenced electronics with live wind instrumentationโsaxophone, clarinet, and flute. These settings inspired a sound thatโs soft and meditative but rich in detail, drawing from 80s Electronic Jazz, New Age, and Japanese ambient-pop.
Herody, who honed the concept while working at Neukรถllnโs Motif bar and record shop, treats sound as architectureโsomething spatial, functional, and emotional. The influence of compilations like *Heisei No Oto* and *Music For Dance & Theatre Vol. 2* (Music From Memory) is clear, but Herody reshapes these textures into something personal and contemporary.
Hard Lounge invites deep listening but doesnโt demand itโitโs equally suited to drifting through rooms or anchoring quiet nights alone. A low-lit, quietly immersive suite that feels designed more than composedโpart soundtrack, part sculpture.
