𝟰𝟬 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙜𝙤 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙗𝙮 𝙇𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙙’𝙨 𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙧. 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙨 - 𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙐𝙆 𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝙩𝙤𝙤.

A lodestone of deep house, Mr. Fingers’ 2nd 12” is a masterclass in mid ‘80s machine groove by one of the most important figures in the history of Black electronic music. It’s probably best known for the almighty ‘𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙄𝙩’, here in its eye-fluttering original instrumental mix, but that’s not to discount the brilliance of his dubbed-out square bass jack classic ‘𝙒𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚’, and certainly not its sexy B-side ‘𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙙𝙨’, floating on dreamiest acid bass, pads, and jazz-taught chords yoked to syrupy 115BPM budge.
