Voice Actor returns to STROOM with a short-form blast of saturated beats and stream-of-consciousness contemplations that belongs in the far corner of the back room.
Last time we heard from Noa Kurzweil, better known as Voice Actor, she was adding her unique touch to life is beautiful records' epic 'veneration for sacred action' comp. And she's back in more recognisable form here, properly following last year's 'Lust' excursion with a triptych of her most assymetric dancefloor experiments made in partnership with two of club music's most reliable outsiders. Simone Trabucchi (aka STILL) is up first, lending a faded 4/4 kick and Basinski-esque orchestral disintegrations to 'Good Luck' and providing Kurzweil with a coarse texture for her plush vocals. Over in just a couple of minutes, it leads perfectly into 'Feral', where Art of Noise-style pitchy vocal slices underpin Kurzweil's ASMR lip smacks and meditations. And Lukid gets a chance to flex on the flip, turning in a Rezzett-style tape-strangled junk-rave bubbler that'd be primed for 4AM destruction if it wasn't for Kurzweil's unexpected turn towards theatrical avant-classical ooze. Proper good, basically.
