Side A offers a reissue of “Horace (Acknowledgment),” a cut from Trible’s debut LP Horace (WCP, 2001), itself a deep homage to L.A. jazz legend Horace Tapscott. With Trible’s voice spiraling skyward over modal grooves and reverent keys, the piece bridges generations of spiritual jazz, echoing Coltrane’s devotional sound while remaining rooted in Pan-African West Coast lineage.

Side B contains unreleased selections from a live broadcast titled Our Cry for Peace, recorded in response to the 9/11 attacks. These tracks, laced with improvisational intensity and collective mourning, transform grief into a meditative plea — a sonic offering that transcends tragedy with hope and resilience.

Released by Kindred Spirits in 2006 as part of their For JC, Love is Supreme series, this limited edition 10” is both a collector’s artifact and a heartfelt transmission — music as prayer, memory, and invocation.
