The A-side opens with "Afreeka," a peak-time afro-tinged stormer powered by hypnotic chants, insistent percussion, and rising melodies that lock the floor into a trance. Flip it over, and "Gonna Get Some" bursts out with raw, phased guitars and sleazy funk swagger, carried by commanding female vocals. Closing the release, "Rollin & Sinkin" dives into a folk-funk groove with a catchy guitar riff and earthy male vocal, sealing the debut with playful, infectious energy.
A confident and colourful first step, this record sets the tone for Amen Brotherโs vision: uniting psychedelic textures, deep grooves, and underground disco fire into a sound that is both reverent and forward-looking.
