Naarm’s polystyle bass explorer does early ‘90s jungle styles on Waveforms, a new label from ASC & DJ Presha’s Spatial/Auxiliary & Samurai Music camps.

The spirit of classic DJ Crystl, 4Hero and DJ Fokus looms large on both cuts, finding that crucial balance of rufige and lushness inherent to the best ’95 gear. ‘Waveform 19’ is the jazzier of the two, layering elegant pads on stepping think break and peppery congas, saving the amen bruk out for the 2nd half and final lift off into the rafters. ‘Waveform 20’ is a bit shorter and more direct, with an intro of sublime tension, all filtered breaks and pink-hued pads, launching into a proper airborne rollick with restless sub bass detonations.
