Sitar lines wind around Szabó’s unmistakable guitar phrasing, supported by Bernard Purdie’s crisp, Latin-dusted rhythms. Tracks like “Walking On Nails” float with dreamlike poise, while “Mizrab” deepens the album’s modal spell. His reimagining of “Paint It Black” becomes a swirling, psych-jazz incantation — familiar yet reborn.

The mood is exploratory but soulful, defined by off-kilter chords, flowing improvisation and a sonic palette that bridges continents. “Jazz Raga” still feels revelatory decades later: a cult artefact of pure creative freedom and one of Szabó’s most transportive, horizon-expanding statements.
