Produced by Rui Maia — the Portuguese musician, producer, and DJ behind Mirror People — the album completes a trilogy that began with *Voyager* (2015) and continued with *Heartbeats Etc.* (2022). Conceived as “a transmission from an imaginary island where genres converge and references collide,” the record blends lush analog textures with elegant songwriting, radiating warmth and curiosity in equal measure.

Written between 2022 and 2025, the album brings together long-time collaborators and new voices, including Rö (Maria do Rosário) on vocals, percussionist Ryoko Imai, saxophonist João Cabrita, and backing vocalists Ana Vieira and Isa Gomes. Tracks like “Any Color U Like” and “Million Questions” showcase Maia’s knack for building timeless, melodic frameworks while pushing his production into expansive new territory.

With *Desert Island Broadcast*, Mirror People reaffirms its place at the intersection of dancefloor euphoria and introspective listening — a carefully tuned signal of connection, companionship, and creativity that reaches beyond geography, genre, and expectation.
