Bassist Flavio Gemma (of Viridanse, C.O.D.E.X., and punk outfit Peggio Punx) teamed up with Massimiliano Bocchio, whose early work as Klange for Minus Habens Records echoed that label’s radical electronic ethos.
Their productions took cues from John Carpenter soundtracks, haunted UK atmospheres, and analog roughness — a far cry from the clean lines of mainstream electronic music. Urbanatribù operated on the fringe, where structure dissolved and intuition ruled.
A rare outlier in Italy’s ‘90s scene, resisting category and authority — their records still pulse with outsider energy.
