Formed by a collective of top Johannesburg musicians, Spirits Rejoice took their name from an Albert Ayler composition but forged a path that was uniquely South African. Their music blends fiery horn arrangements and soaring improvisations with soul, funk and gospel undercurrents, creating a sound that is both spiritually uplifting and rhythmically irresistible.
