Travis Biggs
Tibetian Serenity
𝘼 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙙-𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙙𝙮𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙮, Tibetian Serenity gathers three standout cuts from Travis Biggs’ 1979 album Solar Funk, reissued here on 12" with their full cosmic power restored.
Known for his keyboard work with Isaac Hayes during the disco years, Biggs also carved his own path as a producer and composer, blending soul, funk and synthesizer-driven soundscapes across two cult albums in the late ’70s. His vision of futuristic groove placed him firmly in the lineage of Detroit innovators pushing black music into new dimensions.
One track on this 12" will be instantly familiar to hip-hop heads, having been famously sampled by J Dilla, a testament to the enduring influence of Biggs’ deep, exploratory style. With its mix of lush instrumentation and cosmic textures, *Tibetian Serenity* offers a fresh chance to connect with a body of work that remains both timeless and ahead of its time.
