Rodrigo Correia

Multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Rodrigo Correia released his debut album, “Promessa”. The work stands out within Portugal’s new generation of jazz, combining technical precision, sensitivity and creative exploration.
The EP is preceded by the singles “Dumbo” and “On White”, which offer a glimpse into different facets of the artist’s musical universe.

The title track, “Promessa”, brings the EP full circle and features a stellar quintet: Ricardo Toscano (alto saxophone), André Fernandes (guitar), João Paulo Estevesda Silva (piano), João Lencastre (drums) and Rodrigo Correia himself on double bass. Blending composition and improvisation, the track reflects influences from Portuguese and New York jazz, with a dialogue between saxophone and piano and an expressive guitar solo.
