𝙋𝙚𝙙𝙧𝙤 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨.

For the follow-up to his 2023 debut album Soprem Bons Ventos, Pedro Ricardo set out to truly write. What once emerged through improvisation now began with close reading of Portuguese poets such as Ary dos Santos, before moving deliberately to pen and paper. Temporarily relocating to Rio de Janeiro in early 2025, Ricardo immersed himself in the Brazilian singer-songwriter tradition, spending months alone with a guitar and later absorbing records by Francis Hime, Edu Lobo and José Mário Branco while travelling the country overnight. These experiences reshaped his approach to composition and arrangement.

For the first time, Ricardo wrote not only for his own voice but also for flutes and strings, composing for cellist Carolina Viana, flautists Gil Silva and Edu Moreno, and singers António Zambujo and Ana Margarida Prado, whose contributions he reworked through his distinctive electronic language. Released as a double 7" on his own Hear, Sense and Feel label, with artwork by Allan Gandhi, the project functions as a prelude to his second album, extending his fusion of jazz, electronica and Brazilian and Portuguese música popular while deepening his exploration of songwriting, voice and saudade — a melancholy he embraces with both wonder and humour. As Ricardo puts it, oxalá cante com tempo — hopefully there will be time to sing.
