Drawn from a cache of personal recordings Yokota gifted to Australian producer Ray Castle during the same fertile period that birthed iconic albums such as Acid Mt. Fuji and Ebi’s Zen, these unreleased works capture an artist at the height of his inventiveness, merging hypnotic acid lines, spacious ambient atmospheres and meditative rhythmic explorations.
The project came to life after Transmigration label head David Fogarty and Ray Castle unearthed and restored the material, allowing these long-hidden sessions to finally see the light of day. Across the double LP, Yokota’s singular touch is unmistakable: psychedelic textures intertwine with crystalline synths, otherworldly melodies and a sense of transcendence that has long made his music so cherished.
Unreleased Works 94’–97’ stands as both a vital archival document and a breathtaking listening experience, offering fans and new listeners alike a rare glimpse into Yokota’s creative universe at its most exploratory and intimate.
