Originally issued only on CD via Tokyoโs cult label FORM@ RECORDS, Landform Code is a luminous work of smooth, melodic Detroit-inspired techno, delicately infused with touches of acid, ambient and IDM. Dreamy yet driving, organic yet futuristic, the record captures a late-โ90s moment when electronic music reached for both body and soul.
Across twelve tracks, Virgo builds lush atmospheres and hypnotic rhythms that stand proudly alongside the eraโs finest explorations from B12, The Black Dog, Ian OโBrien, and Warpโs Artificial Intelligence series. The album honors these influences while carving its own distinct path, radiating warmth, textural depth and emotional resonance that place it firmly in the lineage of soulful electronic music.
This long-awaited reissue appears simultaneously with Virgoโs 1999 follow-up Remnants, both drawn from FORM@โs revered vaults and supervised by the original label. Together they inaugurate WRWTFWWโs collaboration with FORM@, a project that will continue with first-time vinyl releases of the cult compilations Art Form I (1997), Art Form 2 (1998), and Re-Form Ver-1.0 (1999).
A true hidden treasure of Japanese techno history, Landform Code finally emerges on vinyl, a timeless document of machines with emotions and a testament to the soulful pulse at the heart of the late โ90s underground.
