For his Sans Loup EP, Brussels-based producer Pepijn Gyssels (aka PiP) teams up with saxophonist Ambroos De Schepper, best known for his role in the jazztronic Bandler Ching. Their collaboration thrives on improvisation: De Schepper arriving at sessions with sax, clarinet, and FX pedals in hand, weaving whimsical sketches that Gyssels would later sculpt into fully formed soundscapes, augmenting with electronics, textures, and subtle percussion.
The title track, *Sans Loup*, is a drifting, abstract jazz journey. De Schepperโs winds float lazily, as if played from the couch after a sleepless night, while Gysselsโ muted percussion and low-end anchor the dreamlike haze. Fragmented vocal snippets and delicate electronic details move through the mix, giving the piece a tactile, lived-in quality.
The result is a singular sound world that recalls the spectral intimacy of Sam Gendel, Andrรฉ3000 or Carlos Niรฑo, but with a distinctly Brussels twist. Less about virtuosity and more about presence, Sans Loup captures the art of lingering in soundโan invitation to slow down, drift, and simply be.
A Limited Edition of 200, black vinyl, screenprinted cover with a lot of variations, handmade DIY packaging with adaptable design and insert (riso). Every piece is unique.
