Released in 2006 on the Punch Drunk imprint, this 12" marked a formative moment for both label and artist. “Erstwhile Rhythm” spins a woozy, broken groove through tightly coiled delays and minor-chord stabs, teasing techno’s structure while sticking to dubstep’s meditative weight.

On the flip, “The Grind” keeps things darker and leaner—spaced-out snares, heads-down sub pressure, and a loop that hints at UK soundsystem tradition while moving well beyond it. A foundational release from Peverelist, foreshadowing both his own exploration and Bristol’s broader mutation of UK bass music.
