An essential rediscovery for fans of Brazilian guitar and South American acoustic traditions, this album merges delicate classical technique with the warmth of Latin jazz and mรบsica popular brasileira. Among the highlights are Agustรญnโs own intricate and lyrical pieces โLuces de Valeriaโ and โPreparativos Maritimosโ, alongside reverent renditions of Baden Powellโs โPequeรฑo Valsโ and โO Cego Aderaldo (Nordeste...)โ.
By the time of this recording, Lucena had already toured Europe extensively and worked closely with Brazilian legends. This record distills all of those life experiences into a sonic language that feels both personal and borderless, drawing from traditions while finding new paths.
Featuring prominent Argentinian players such as Rubรฉn Izarrualde (flute), Bernardo Baraj (saxophone) and Osvaldo Avena (drums), the ensemble complements Lucenaโs guitar with subtle dynamics and tonal colour. The album was remastered from the original tapes by Stuart Hawkes, ensuring that its intimate textures and spacious arrangements are preserved with clarity and care.
