Originally released in 1979 – strangely only in Portugal – yet produced by a French duo, Anselmi/Silvestre, “Music Love Song” is a 7-minute European disco excursion with an unmistakably singular aesthetic, confidently breaking every rule in favour of a sound unheard of at the time. Using unorthodox studio techniques that would have been unacceptable for most major labels, the single ended up only on a small Portuguese sublabel for mysterious reasons. The result is a deeply cosmic, melancholic journey with dreamy, androgynous vocals and raging guitars cruising above 130 BPM — a piece impossible to forget.
