After their 1987 debut LP, Pedro Ramos brought together his trusted musiciansโCarlos Sousa, Bulimundo, Nuno Santos, Zรฉzรฉ, Augusto Rasta, Dalรณ, and Dalรบโfor a new project under both his and Jacintaโs name. The album was recorded in just eight days at Estรบdios Musicorde, built from memories scribbled on cafรฉ napkins and refined at home. Their collaboration was more than musicalโit was personal and profound, built on a love story that started in Praia and led to a shared life in Portugal.
Born in Santiago, Cabo Verde, Pedro and Jacinta emigrated to Lisbon after independence in 1978, where Pedro balanced life as a Lisnave welder with nightly gigs and, eventually, the opening of his own Dancing Bar in 1982. Located beneath their home, the venue became a local hub for reggae and Cape Verdean grooves, staying open until 1994 and nurturing two LPs and a string of singles.
Still making music together today, they embody a message of joy, openness, and cultural fusionโCape Verdean roots interpreted through diasporic life and soundsystem vibrations.
